Our Religious & Legal Foundation
Operating Under EABICCS
Since January 2023, JJah Livity has operated within the sacramental framework provided by EABICCS, a recognized Rastafarian church in Jamaica.
Through this structure, Jah Livity is authorized to:
Cultivate ganja for sacramental purposes
Process sacramental items with care and responsibility
Share sacramental items as part of religious practice
All of this takes place within a religious and cultural context, not as recreational or commercial cannabis activity.
Documentation confirming this authorization is available for reference:
Jamaica’s Legal Context
Jamaica formally recognizes the sacramental use of ganja by Rastafarians.
In 2015, amendments to the Dangerous Drugs Act created a regulated framework for lawful ganja use, including religious and sacramental practices. Oversight of this framework is managed by the The Cannabis Licensing Authority (CLA).
EABICCS operates in line with this framework, and Jah Livity functions within EABICCS’ recognized religious structure, respecting both Jamaica’s laws and Rastafarian spiritual tradition.
About Us
JAH LIVITY is a social enterprise committed to supporting the Jamaican Rastafarian community.
Rastafari is much more than a religion. It is a way of life, a social movement, as well as a mind set. Rastafarai has been an integral part of Jamaican culture for almost a century and has most definitely shaped the Jamaica that we all know and love today. Life of Rastafarian people in Jamaica has been far from easy. Learn more about the history of Rastafari in our blog. Jamaica has a long way to go to recover from the enormous impacts of COVID-19 pandemic and our Rastafarian communities are among those struggling the most.
OUR VISION is the world filled with ONE LOVE, health and happiness for all.
OUR MISSION is to support small local Rastafarian communities by allowing them to share their culture and values with visitors to Jamaica.
What Jah Livity Is — and What It Is Not
We make this distinction clearly, out of respect for the culture we stand in and the laws we operate under.
Jah Livity is:
A mission-driven social enterprise
A supporter of Rastafarian religious practice
A bridge between culture, community, and visitors
Part of a recognized sacramental framework
Jah Livity is not:
A recreational dispensary
A commercial cannabis shop
A walk-in retail store
An illicit or unregulated operation
Clarity matters — and we choose to be clear.

LITTLE BIT OF HISTORY
The Rasta’s use of Ganja stems back to the beginning of Rastarafi in Jamaica. In 1941 one of the early teachers of Rastafari, Leonard P. Howell, set up a Rasta community of sixteen hundred Rasta’s. This community was named Pinnacle. At Pinnacle, Howell grew Ganja as a cash crop. It was during this time that Rasta discovered the properties of Ganja that helped their reasoning process. The Rasta soon turned to the Bible and found reverence to the use of this holy plant. From this Ganja was born into the Rastafari culture.
